Maryvale Academy strives to help its students to know, understand, love and act on their faith. By receiving catechetical teaching in these formation years, IMG_7052students learn the fundamental beliefs of our Catholic faith such as the Commandments, the Triune God, the Creed, the Sacraments, the Holy Mass and our moral life in Christ. Through constant references to the Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, students study the life of Jesus and the teachings of the Church. They are challenged to become followers of Christ and the light of the world – immersing fully in the truth, seeing through the eyes of faith and living by the example of Christ and the saints.

Religious education at Maryvale goes well beyond the religion class and pageant2permeates the entire curriculum and other aspects of school life. Daily prayers and visits to the Adoration Chapel in the presence of the Eucharistic Lord and weekly masses nourish a personal love for Christ. Students encounter the lives of saints through novel studies and learn to appreciate the role of grace, transmitted through the Sacraments, in helping them to develop virtues. The Academy provides opportunities such as the “Virtues Week” as well as various Advent and Lenten charity projects to help students understand what it means to grow in personal holiness and become a disciple of Christ.
