Regular practice emphasizes memorization of facts, mental math, and problem-solving skills to build a strong foundation for higher-level mathematics.
The English Language Arts program at Maryvale Academy emphasizes language as the core of learning, beginning with phonetic-based reading in Kindergarten and Grades 1–2, and progressing through writing instruction, spelling, classic literature, grammar, and logic up to Grade 8. The curriculum includes poetry memorization, public speaking contests, and culminating showcases to develop articulate, literate, and thoughtful communicators.
